A disciplinary committee of Pakistan Cricket Board has banned Star Fast Bowler Shoaib Akhter for five years for breach of the board's code of conduct for players.
" The board has lost confidence in Shoaib Akhtar and therefore felt that his presence in the field was damaging to the Pakistan team, for Pakistan players and for the image of Pakistan cricket, " PCB chairman Dr. Nasim Ashraf told AFP.
As a result of this ban, Shoaib Akhter will not be able to play all International as well as domestic cricket of Pakistan. His playing for the team of Bollywood Star Shahrukh Khan in Indian Premier League has also come in doubt.
Poor star...
UPDATE: Shoaib Akhter is allowed to appeal against the ban within 7 days.
I really think it is too much of a ban. FIVE YEARS. Dear lord.
